About Firesprite
Firesprite is a first‑party PlayStation development studio headquartered in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Founded in 2012 by former members of Studio Liverpool, the company has grown to a team of more than 200 experienced developers who specialise in creating cutting‑edge, showcase‑grade titles that highlight the capabilities of Sony’s PlayStation platform. As a fully integrated member of the PlayStation Studios family, Firesprite works closely with Sony Interactive Entertainment to deliver high‑quality, immersive gaming experiences that resonate with PlayStation’s global audience.
The studio’s core competency lies in end‑to‑end game development, from concept and design through to production, optimisation and release. Firesprite’s portfolio is built around “showcase titles” – games that serve as flagship demonstrations of the PlayStation ecosystem, often featuring advanced graphics, innovative gameplay mechanics and deep narrative engagement. These titles are developed for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, and the studio’s expertise extends to cross‑platform optimisation, ensuring that each game runs flawlessly on Sony’s hardware.
Firesprite’s business model is rooted in first‑party development: the studio receives funding, resources and distribution support from Sony Interactive Entertainment, while delivering titles that reinforce the PlayStation brand and drive console sales. The company’s culture is defined by a blend of creative ambition and technical rigor, fostering an environment where developers can experiment with new ideas while meeting the high standards expected of a Sony first‑party studio. With a strong presence in the UK’s vibrant game‑development community, Firesprite continues to push the boundaries of what is possible on PlayStation, positioning itself as a key player in the global console‑gaming market.
