About Solaraid
SolarAid is a UK-based charity that aims to combat poverty and climate change by providing access to solar energy in Africa. Founded in 2006, the organization focuses on delivering affordable solar solutions to communities without electricity, thereby improving their quality of life and promoting sustainable development. SolarAid works with local partners to distribute solar lights and solar home systems, enabling families to replace kerosene lamps with clean, renewable energy sources. The charity also emphasizes the importance of education and awareness around solar technology, helping to create a sustainable market for solar products in the regions it serves. Through its initiatives, SolarAid has positively impacted thousands of lives by providing reliable energy, reducing carbon emissions, and fostering economic growth in rural areas.
