About Carbfix
Carbfix is a pioneering company based in Iceland that focuses on carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. The company aims to mitigate climate change by capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and storing them safely underground. Carbfix's innovative approach involves dissolving CO2 in water and injecting it into basalt rock formations, where it mineralizes and becomes a solid mineral within a few years. This process not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also offers a sustainable solution for long-term carbon storage. Carbfix collaborates with various stakeholders, including research institutions and governmental bodies, to advance its technology and expand its impact on global carbon management efforts. The company is recognized for its contributions to environmental sustainability and has been involved in several high-profile projects in Iceland and beyond.
