About Okapi Conservation Project
The Okapi Conservation Project (OCP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the okapi, a unique and endangered species native to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Founded in 1987, the OCP works to protect the okapi and its habitat through various initiatives, including community education, anti-poaching efforts, and habitat restoration. The organization collaborates with local communities and international partners to promote sustainable practices that benefit both wildlife and people. The OCP also conducts research and monitoring to better understand the ecology of the okapi and the threats it faces. Through its efforts, the OCP aims to ensure the long-term survival of the okapi and the rich biodiversity of the Congo rainforest.
