About Urban Dictionary
Urban Dictionary is a crowdsourced online dictionary that provides definitions for slang words and phrases. Founded in 1999 by Aaron Peckham, it allows users to submit their own definitions, which are then voted on by the community. The platform has become a popular resource for understanding contemporary language and cultural references, often reflecting the evolving nature of slang. Urban Dictionary has gained significant traction among younger audiences, particularly in the context of social media and internet culture. The site features a wide array of definitions, examples, and usage notes, making it a unique tool for both casual users and linguists alike.
