About Prison Book Program
The Prison Book Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing books to individuals incarcerated in prisons and jails across the United States. Founded in 2007, the program aims to promote literacy and education among inmates, helping them to access knowledge and resources that can aid in their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. The organization operates primarily through donations and volunteer efforts, sourcing books from the community and distributing them to those in need. By focusing on the transformative power of reading, the Prison Book Program seeks to foster personal growth and reduce recidivism rates among the incarcerated population.
