About Fost Plus
Fost Plus is a Belgian non-profit organization responsible for the management of the collection, sorting, and recycling of household packaging waste in Belgium. Established in 1994, Fost Plus operates under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle, which mandates that producers are responsible for the entire lifecycle of their products, including post-consumer waste. The organization collaborates with various stakeholders, including municipalities, waste management companies, and producers, to ensure efficient waste management and promote recycling initiatives. Fost Plus aims to increase recycling rates and reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste through innovative solutions and public awareness campaigns. The organization also provides guidance and support to businesses on sustainable packaging practices and compliance with regulatory requirements. Fost Plus plays a crucial role in Belgium's circular economy by facilitating the transition towards more sustainable waste management practices and contributing to the country's environmental goals.
