About Dexter Gordon Centennial Program
The Dexter Gordon Centennial Program is an initiative dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of the legendary jazz saxophonist Dexter Gordon. Founded in 2015, the program aims to honor Gordon's contributions to music through various events, educational programs, and community outreach. The initiative seeks to inspire new generations of musicians and jazz enthusiasts by promoting Gordon's music and the cultural significance of jazz. The program often collaborates with artists, educators, and institutions to host concerts, workshops, and exhibitions that highlight Gordon's influence on the jazz genre. Through these efforts, the Dexter Gordon Centennial Program not only preserves the memory of this iconic musician but also fosters a deeper appreciation for jazz music as a vital part of American culture.
