About Icftu

The International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) was a global trade union federation that represented the interests of workers worldwide. Established to promote and protect the rights of workers, the ICFTU engaged in advocacy, research, and collaboration with various stakeholders to improve labor standards and working conditions. The organization focused on issues such as workers' rights, social justice, and economic equity, aiming to empower trade unions and their members across different countries. The ICFTU played a significant role in international labor discussions and was involved in various campaigns to address global labor challenges. In 2006, the ICFTU merged with the World Confederation of Labour to form the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).
